Cross versus isolated: what the calculator needs from you
Margin mode changes which equity figure belongs in Smart Crypto Calculator PC — and what liquidation means for the rest of the book.
Isolated margin asks for the equity assigned to that contract. Cross margin asks for a clearer story about shared wallet equity and which other positions can bleed the same pool. In Buffer Clinics we refuse to enter a vague “whole account” number without listing co-habitants.
If you cannot name what else shares the margin, treat the session as isolated-first. You can always widen the equity figure later; starting wide hides the liquidation story you came to see.
